Default Manga

Many of my friends not only collect American comic books but also collect Japanese Manga books, such as Pokemon, Magic Knight Rayearth. In the following years, Manga books have became increasingly popular.

Any ideas how much their manga collections are worth? Are they worth more here in the states than they are in Japan?

The manga collection is worth more if you have completed series in good condition. The popular mangas are worth just as much in U.S. as in Japan.

Well i have not heard anything about these manga collections. May be i could give a try on seeing the review about manga books here. I will try to collect some books and read if possible. But it is a welcome note that other country's comic books and series also get the same popularity.

Hello tomandrew,

I am excited to see that you are interested in comic books from other countries. I highly recommend you to read “Paradise Kiss”. It has been the most popular comic series by a famous Japanese comic artist. “Paradise kiss” was also produced as a movie and cartoon which had been translated in many languages.

Hi Shandy,
It is so happy to meet you here. I am a big fan of the comic “Paradise Kiss” too. As I have the entire collection, I read them more than 3 times. It was such a great story and the characters are so attractive with their own sense of fashion.

Hi Comic fans,

If you consider your comic book collection an investment, here are some basics. There are four divisions: Golden Age, Bronze Age, Silver Age and Modern. What age to collect, or what comic books are valuable within any of the four age divisions is important.

Nearly all comic books found in Golden Age start at a thousand dollars and can go up to half a million dollars. For example: Action Comics # 1 published by DC Comics, with the first appearance of Superman, in near mint condition is going at half a million dollars to one million dollars.

Older first additions seem to be always worth more money. Then again sometimes when a new character is introduced into a comic series, you can find a big jump in price also.
When a movie is made of a comic book character, it will also increase the price. Look at Spiderman comics. There has been a fair increase in price since the introduction of the first movie.

There have been a few comics published in the last ten years that are now looking at fantastic increase in price, some up to five hundred dollars. One example is “The Death of Spiderman.” It just shows that even today’s comics can be a good investment if they are put away for a few years.
